No Leaks, Just Lunch.

A Long-Awaited Addition to Main Street. A New Deli Is Coming!

For years, residents have talked about how wonderful it would be to have a neighborhood deli in the heart of Cornwall. Soon, that wish will become a reality.

One of the exciting projects made possible through the NY Forward Small Business Grant Program is a brand-new deli coming to the corner of Main Street and Willow Avenue, in the former Madison Ave. Kids location.

The program invited local businesses to apply for funding, with proposals reviewed by a committee of Cornwall residents. Four businesses were ultimately selected to receive grants. While the funding doesn’t cover the full cost of each project, it provides a meaningful investment that helps these businesses bring their visions to life sooner.

Last week, we had the opportunity to meet with Chris McGann (pictured above) of CJM Plumbing Heating and AC, who is hard at work transforming the space into what promises to be a welcoming gathering spot for the community. The deli will celebrate Cornwall’s hometown pride with décor featuring local history, landmarks, and community spirit, creating a space that feels uniquely Cornwall.

The NY Forward grant will also help fund the installation of an outdoor patio with seating, giving residents and visitors a place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or a cup of coffee while taking in the activity along Main Street.

It’s exciting to see another vacant storefront being transformed into a vibrant local business, and even more exciting that it’s something so many residents have been asking for.

We look forward to welcoming this new addition to downtown Cornwall and wish Chris and his family every success as he brings this long-awaited community favorite to life.
